Creepy Colouring Competition
Colouring pictures are available from the Newcastle Centre from Monday 12 October, alternatively, future Picasso’s can draw their own picture from scratch! Completed pictures will be displayed in the Newcastle Centre before judging takes place on Saturday 31 October. All entries must be received by 9.00pm on Friday 30 October. Prizes for the best entries will be awarded at the Halloween Fancy Dress Party

Boo-castle Town Treasure Hunt
Are you a super spook sleuth? Make your way through Newcastle’s eerie streets for a spook-filled treasure hunt and a chance to win the Halloween Treasure. Competition forms are available from Monday 26 October at the Newcastle Centre, Central Promenade.

Autumn Pumpkinfest and Craft Fair

Castle Ward

Fun for all the family as you pick, scoop and carve out a pumpkin.  Find the pumpkin people on the trail, harvest an organic pumpkin and sample some organic pumpkin soup in the tea-room.  An extensive range of local artists and makers will also be displaying their crafts.  The National Trust gift shop, second-hand bookshop and tea room will be open from 12noon and the adventure and woodland play parks will be open throughout the day. 1-5pm, Normal Admission, Members Free. 028 4488 1204, castleward@nationaltrust.org.uk

Ghosts & Gourds Day

Rowallane Garden

An afternoon of spooky fun with scary face painting and ghostly storytelling with the friendly witch.  Pick, scoop and carve out a pumpkin to take home and follow the ghost trail around the garden.  Spend sometime in the secret garden browsing the pottery studio and second-hand bookshop then complete your day with a cup of coffee and scone in the Garden Kitchen tea room. 12noon-5pm, Normal Admission, Members Free. 028 9751 0131, rowallane@nationaltrust.org.uk
