BE THRILLED AND CHILLED IN NEWCASTLE THIS HALLOWEEN

The 2009 Hallowtides Festival will keep the whole family occupied this midterm with spooky festivities commencing on Monday 26 October and running until Sunday 1 November.

A frenzied week of eerie events will begin with the traditional Creepy Colouring Competition, Boo-castle Town Treasure Hunt, Halloween Workshops and Ghosts and Ghouls Window Trail, all of which are guaranteed to put the ‘chill’ into your Hallowtides Festival.

Scary Shenanigans will take place from 3pm on Saturday 31 October, when some of the UK’s leading animated stilt characters will mesmerise party-goers as they creep and scuttle along the promenade, and frighteningly good fun will be had by all at the ever popular Children's Fancy Dress Party in the Newcastle Centre.

The traditional Freaky Fancy Dress Competition will take place at 4pm followed by a magical lantern parade. Boo-gie with The Booze Bros at the festival stage, and watch out for an extra special performance by the Junior Glee Choral Society which promises to be a real Thriller!

Cool FM's very own Mr Chill, aka Pete Snodden, one of the hottest names in radio, will rev up the party atmosphere with his banter and funny stories and lead the countdown to the Fantastic Fireworks at 6.00pm on Central Promenade. The night sky will be illuminated with all the colours of the rainbow as our amazing fireworks display dances and dazzles against the majestic Mourne Mountains and spectacular seafront.

And there's more... on Sunday 1 November the promenade will be at the centre of more Hallowtides’ Horrors with Doctor Fun's Monster Mash Music and Mayhem, Spooky Stories and Chilling Tales by Lexy Higgins and back by popular demand, the Big Telly Magic Show by Paul Gomac.
